Shae.Carrey is an accomplished and well-versed filmmaker and communications specialist with a career spanning up to 12 years, specializing in documentaries, short films, post-production editing, digital and print marketing, social media content creation, and website building.​​

My passion for film and television ignited while watching Living Single, The Five Heartbeats, and horror films. Inspired by the cast of Living Single, I began performing in school and church plays but soon discovered my true love was in directing and writing.

​

In 2010, I enrolled at Oswego University to study cultural anthropology. I examined how the media's negative portrayal of black individuals and culture harms the community, regardless of the creator's background. During this time, I wrote my thesis on cults and religion in black media, developed my documentary skills, and worked on various writing projects.

​

After Oswego, I have spent over eight years as a communications and fundraising specialist for start-up nonprofits, crafting marketing plans, technical writing, and leading fundraising efforts. In 2017, I pursued a double master's degree in nonprofit leadership at Fordham University, focusing on communications and marketing. During 2020, I knew I wanted to up my skills, so I returned to college for a third time, attending Full Sail University and graduating as a salutatorian with a degree in Digital Cinematography.

My diverse experiences across tech, government, literature, nonprofits, health, education, and consulting have allowed me to explore my creativity in video editing, directing, writing, producing, graphic design, website creation, brand building, and technical writing.

In 2023, I founded DrinksandDesserts Media Productions, which has attracted a wide range of clients, including government agencies and authors.
